Looking for a full time equine veterinarian for a multi-doctor practice based in Northern Illiniois approximately 1 hour outside of Chicago. Practice offers both ambulatory and haul-in capabilities with a full service hospital facility consisting of a surgical facility, nuclear scintigraphy, video endoscopy, in house lab capabilities and more.
Practice clientele consists of a wide variety of breeds and disciplines, though our predominant client base is hunter/jumper and sport horse medicine. We offer a large range of state of the art procedures and equipment capabilities including portable and in house digital radiography, portable and in house ultrasonography, portable ESWT/shockwave, portable upper airway endoscopy, IRAP, Pro-Stride, intralesional regenerative therapies (including Stem Cell and PRP), Cryotherapy, Alternative Medicine, and Power Dentistry. Practice has a full time boarded surgeon on staff for both elective and emergency surgeries. Emergency services are provided to our clientele 24/7/365 and emergency duty rotated among the associate veterinarians. Practice has two full time CVTs on staff, with additional part time and full time veterinary assistant staff. Our practice serves as official veterinarian for the local HITS show at Balmoral Park and duties at the show during the summer months are rotated between the associate veterinarians. A strong interest in working the show circuits and an interest in travel are a bonus. We have clientele that travel to shows in Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio and Florida throughout the year. A fully furnished practice vehicle with vet box is provided.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual that has a passion for equine medicine. Mentorship among the associate veterinarians is encouraged, as well as an open forum in our practice to “bounce” ideas off one another. Experienced and new graduates will be considered.
Possibility for partnership opportunities in the future for the right candidate. Base salary is negotiable based on your experience and it includes a production bonus/commission.
Illinois & Wisconsin license are required for this position. Other state licenses may be needed for this position.
