Reading through the employment adds, they all start to look the same. You get a little history, some real estate information and then an equipment list. The most important part of a veterinary hospital is the people! We get that! We have employees that have been with us for decades, I think that says something about our team!
That said; let me bore you with some history, real estate information and an equipment list:
Currently, we have 4 hospitals. Our main facility, Village Oak Veterinary Hospital, is located in Modesto; was built in 2001 and is a 9000 sq.ft. free standing hospital. We have 3 full time general practitioners, and a support staff of 12, with several R.V.T.s to assist the doctors. Village Oak also has the benefit of specialists that work with the general practitioners and see referral cases at our hospital. Currently we have Dr. Andrea Cannon our dermatologist, Dr. Craig Long our radiologist, Dr. Brian Mackie our cardiologist, and our boarded surgeon Dr. J.T. Vida.. We have digital X-ray and digital dental X-ray, surgical laser, ultrasound, arthroscopy, tonopens, and new in house laboratory equipment. For the convenience of our clients we also offer boarding and grooming.
College Veterinary Hospital is our original hospital and has been providing small animal care to Modesto since 1965. It is currently open 5 days a week and supports a single, full time veterinarian with 4 support staff. Dr. Lacy has a special interest in Guide Dogs and provides care for all the local Guide Dogs in training.
Northgate Veterinary Hospital is the newest of our hospitals built in nearby Manteca. This hospital was built in 2004 and is our most rapidly growing practice. This 6,500 sq ft practice supports 3 full time general practitioners as well as Dr. Marilyn Koski, an avian/exotics specialist with certification in acupuncture and physical therapy.
Our fourth location, Manteca Veterinary Hospital is one of the oldest practices in the state. Started in the 50’s as a large animal practice, transitioning to mixed in the 70’s until we purchased in 1993 and made it strictly small animal. Due to the growth of this practice, we have replaced the old facility with a brand new hospital, and it has taken off.
Due to the success of our practices and growth of the surrounding area we are looking for two additional doctors. We have great, modern hospitals; motivated staff, and great clients….. What we need is a great general practitioner!!!! Our starting salary is $85,000 (negotiable, everything is negotiable), $5000.00 for moving expenses, health insurance allowance, employer funded profit sharing plan, C.E. allowance, association memberships, no emergency calls and much more.
If your goals include practicing progressive medicine and working in an enjoyable atmosphere, then give us a call. We welcome the chance to talk to you, answer any questions, and arrange a tour of the hospitals. We will cover travel expenses for serious inquiries. Correspondence may be sent to Village Oak Veterinary Hospital, 3924 Oakdale Rd., Modesto, CA 95357. or call Sean Fitzpatrick, D.V.M at 209-551-6200
Additional Salary Information: Bonus available based on production.
