Since 1980, Valley Cottage Animal Hospital has provided high-quality medical and emergency care with a large and varied caseload. Comprehensive emergency care; wellness care for dogs, cats, birds and exotic pets, and advanced veterinary diagnostics and surgery present a unique blend of services for our community.
Valley Cottage Animal Hospital has an established Licensed Veterinary Technician externship program and enjoys an LVT to DVM ratio of greater than 2:1. We are proud to be nominated as a 2016 AAHA Practice of the Year Finalist.
As a full-service veterinary clinic, we provide critical care, advanced diagnostics, surgical procedures, acupuncture and complementary herbal medicine, pain management, dentistry, ultrasound and client grief counselling to out patients families. Valley Cottage Animal Hospital is affiliated with the Bear Mountain Trailside Zoo, making local wildlife and zoo residents frequent visitors to the hospital. Educational opportunities include daily inpatient rounds, teaching rounds and lectures, monthly regional continuing education lectures. Our proximity to other major referral centers in the Tri- state area allows for additional continuing education lectures, and advanced imaging referral availability.
Rockland County is located in the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York. Our numerous state parks provide a wonderful setting for hiking, running, or walking your four-legged companions. Easy access to the Hudson River allows for riverside restaurants, fishing and boating activities. We are fortunate to be located only 20 minutes from Manhattan arts and nightlife, as well as Northern New Jersey shopping.
At Valley Cottage Animal Hospital, we work together as a team to provide compassionate, comprehensive health care to all pets and to exceed the expectations of their families. All new hires are provided with a Staff veterinarian who provides mentoring and guidance during training and through their career at the hospital.
Requirements for this position include a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, New York State license in good standing, and license with DEA. Experienced companion animal veterinarian preferred, however Veterinary Internship graduates considered.
