Manor Equine Hospital is seeking applications for a FULL-TIME licensed technician to join our team. We are a busy three doctor, all elective surgical and sports medicine referral hospital in historic Baltimore County, Maryland providing state of the art surgical treatment for both orthopedic and soft tissue conditions as well as ambulatory veterinary services. Established in 1991, the practice has developed a reputation for excellent patient care and superior communication and has become a premier referral center serving Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and parts of Northern Virginia.
Requirements include a minimum of one-year experience as an equine specific technician, a high level of competence handling horses, eligibility for licensure in Maryland, and a positive attitude in a busy work environment.
Responsibilities include daily patient physical examinations, administration of treatments as prescribed by veterinarians, record keeping, assisting with radiology and ultrasound imaging, catheter placement and patient surgical prep, running and monitoring anesthesia, instrument cleaning and sterilization, OR prep and OR and recovery clean up. Additionally, technician will assist veterinarian with outpatient work-ups and treatments.
Experience with equine anesthesia is highly desirable, although we are willing to train the right candidate. We offer competitive wages commensurate with experience, 401K retirement plan, paid vacation after one year of employment, and CE opportunities. There is no on-call or weekend duty required.
