The Pet Emergency & Specialty Center in San Diego is looking to expand their team by adding a Medical Director to their 24/7 emergency hospital that provides excellent care to the south side of town.

The hospital located in Chula Vista currently has a team of talented Emergency Veterinarians. We work in a friendly, collaborative environment and enjoy a special camaraderie among doctors, as well as with all our staff. Our philosophy promotes excellence in medicine and service to our clients, referring veterinarians and each other. This location is also a satellite to a sister multi-specialty & ER hospital 25 miles away in La Mesa. We have an extensive support network and are excited to help the right individual develop and advance professionally.

The ideal Medical Director has experience in, or is interested in learning how to be...

• A leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to build and lead a high performing team
• Experienced and confident in Emergency Medicine & Surgery,
• Motivated to meet & exceed the established standards of care
• Interested and invested in the education and growth of their team
• Effective in teaching and monitoring quality of care and service
• A strong collaborator with the Practice Manager for operational & financial performance
• Organized and reliable
• An ethical person who possesses high level of emotional intelligence
• Concerned that all patients and clients are treated with care and compassion
• Excited to work with our referring veterinarians as a team to provide exceptional service to their clients, patients and them.

This is a working veterinarian position, balancing patient care and administrative responsibilities. The culture of the hospital is a key focus. A friendly attitude and professional communication is essential.
