IDEAL veterinary career offered at McKean Veterinary Hospital! We are looking for an ambitious veterinarian eager to practice high quality general veterinary care. MVH is a privately owned full-service companion animal hospital located in a beautiful, state-of-the-art building designed by a nationally recognized firm. Our facility is located on 8 acres in McKean, PA located 10 miles south of Erie, PA, on the shores of Lake Erie.

We have a committed mentoring program for new associates and offer a very competitive compensation and benefits package. Support staff is highly trained and motivated. We strive to create a healthy, positive work environment so that our associates and technicians can practice effectively and develop both personally and professionally. Work week is VERY reasonable with after-hours and weekend emergencies handled by local emergency hospital.

It is our belief that support, teaching and collaboration with McKean Veterinary Hospital's professional staff results in the development of confident, effective, compassionate and productive veterinarians. We encourage new graduates as well as experienced veterinarians to apply. New and less experienced veterinary graduates are supported with initial salary guarantees in the early stages of practice building. Typical salary in the first year is 100K in additional to full health benefits, CE, subscriptions, dues and retirement account. Our associates are respected and treated as professionals and are encouraged to collaborate on cases and management decision making.

We do require a strong work ethic and a desire to practice high quality veterinary medicine and surgery. Good communication skills and a compassionate approach to helping clients and their pets is essential. Good leadership skills are very helpful as well as an ability to work with team members effectively. We encourage healthy life/work balance. Surgical practice is not required, but preferred. 

Requirements include DVM or VMD degree or equivalent.

Work week is typically 32 scheduled hours of appointments and surgery.
