Veterinary student externship openings Externships are available in the fall, winter, and spring. The business is a two-person mixed practice consisting of 35% large animal and 20% small. The large animal is mostly cow/calf with some feedlot, dairy, sheep and goats, and horses. The small animal is mostly dogs and cats. Herd health concepts are emphasized in all operations. The clinic has a small animal exam/treatment/surgery room, dispensing/reception area, lab/prep room, small kennel for surgical recovery and calf intravenous patients.
